Thank you, my friend. And yes, it is wonderful. Normally we don't know when we get to be Jesus to someone, as I'm sure Robert had no idea what it meant to me, even fifty years later. I hope I see him when I get to Heaven!

I love the way you see Jesus in everyday activities. I am amazed that you can remember the name of the lifeguard that held your hand. Isn't it wonderful to have the opportunity to be Jesus to someone as they plunge into the uncertainty the future holds?

You've no idea how timely this was for me. I've never gone through the kind of shadow valley you have, but the bottom did fall out of my life this week and I feel I've been hit by a truck and am on life support. God is pushing the air in and out of my lungs, too, just as he did for you. He's also walking through each day for me, moving my legs and feet for me. I can't think too well right now, but I can feel God just as you described. The scripture you noted from Psalm 34:18 has always been a comfort to me. Thank you for sharing your heart and God's strength.

I also am going to forward this. John & I celebrated our 13th anniversary on the 10th and I'm amazed we've made it this far. It has to be the work of God because left to our own devices we both would have destroyed it 12 years and 3 weeks ago!

I laughed out loud over the Indian Tire World. One of us is deaf, too, and it's not me. We have had many laughs over misinterpreted sentences - even with his hearing aids in. Happy Anniversary! You two have been an inspiration to me over the years more than you know. Keep on keepin' on.

One of my favorite parts: "On the contrary, the Lord's wedding gift to us was not each other. It was the gift of Himself. To this day, neither of us has been able to bestow on the other the blessings we have sought for ourselves until we learned how to receive them from God and pass them along."
How beautiful to have in your marriage! Truly letting the Lord live in and through your relationship!
